Everything a DVR should do. Nothing it shouldn't.

A cloud account gives you the best experience — or stay fully offline; your recordings stay on your devices either way.

Watch & record live OTA TV

Tune free broadcast channels from an antenna through a compatible TV tuner. Watch live TV and record on your computer, phone, or tablet, right in the browser. Pause and rewind are planned for upcoming releases.

📱

Watch on any screen

Tanso TV works in any modern browser with HTML5 video — phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops on your network. No separate app to install.

💾

Your files, your machine

Recordings are saved as standard video files on your own computer. Watch them anywhere, keep them forever.

🖥️

Windows, macOS and Linux

One Tanso TV experience across all three platforms. Install the server on your computer and watch from any browser.

Works with USB and network tuners

Works with many USB and PCIe tuners on Windows, plus the HDHomeRun models listed in the compatibility guide. On Linux, direct USB/PCIe support is implemented and verified with Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD model 1595, while other models are not yet fully verified; on macOS, HDHomeRun is currently the supported tuner family.

🎁

What's free

Watch live TV and record what you're watching for free, with one tuner per device. Hardware acceleration is available on supported operating systems and GPUs. Limited remote access is available today; scheduled and series recording are planned for a future paid tier, and EPG support is planned for the next release.

Up and running in three steps

If you can plug in an antenna, you can run Tanso TV.

Connect your gear

Connect an OTA antenna to a compatible USB or PCIe tuner on Windows or Linux, or to a supported HDHomeRun on Windows, Linux, or macOS.

Install & scan

Install Tanso TV, connect your tuner, and use the cloud web app to run a channel scan. Tanso TV can discover a tuner automatically when it is connected before the Device starts; if you connect it later, run Tuner Discovery first.

Watch & record

Browse available channels, start watching, and record what you want to keep in your own library of shows and movies.

Cut the cord, keep the shows

Over-the-air TV is free — the airwaves are yours already. Tanso TV just gives you a proper DVR for them, the way cable used to, with the core features free.
